More than 28 years ago, the Maison Lise Baccara chose to settle in the French department of Vendée, in the lovely town of Saint-Martin-Lars-en-Sainte-Hermine. This choice was deliberate: It is in this generous terroir that our Maison has decided to carry on the tradition of the Troussepinète production. The Troussepinète is a traditional French aperitif and a signature drink from the Vendée department.
This French herbal liquor is made from wild blackthorn leaves, once renowned for cleansing the body and aiding the removal of toxins.

The traditional Troussepinète (17% ABV)
In order to create the French traditional Troussepinète, young shoots of wild blackthorn are softly infused in an aromatic wine and Lise Baccara’s cognac specifically chosen for their high quality.
Alcohol content: 17% ABV
Colour: deep ruby and coppery gold
Nose: A deep bouquet dominated by fruity notes of sloe
Palate: Subtle aromas of almond perfectly balanced with the distinctive taste of blackthorns shoots

The traditional Troussepinète is a French regional aperitif crafted in in a variety of aromas in order to delight every palate:
red blackthorn, white blackthorn, red fruits, white fruits, mirabelle plum, cherry, nut, raspberry.

Handpicked young blackthorn shoots, long maceration and rigorous selection of the base ingredients are a testimony to this commitment. Each bottle is a reflection of a preserved terroir and passion for excellence.
Each year, almost 3 metric tons of young blackthorn shoots are handpicked in Charente-Maritme and Vendée’s countrysides. Then, these shoots are immersed in wine and eau-de-vie, following an artisanal process only known to our master liquor maker.
Lise Baccara’s cellar in Vendée is entirely dedicated to the production of Troussepinète, making it a true elixir from Vendée. Being on site allows us a production true to ancestral methods of the region and authentic aromas.
